What It's About:
The Blue & Gold Dinner is an annual Cub Scout tradition. The dinner is a celebration of the anniversary of the founding of Boy Scouts of America on February 8, 1910.
Our Dinner:
Pack 47 typically coordinates a Potluck dinner with each Den being assigned to bring a kind of side dish (for example: salads, fruit, hot side dish, etc.). Your Den Leader will let you know how your Scout/family can contribute to the menu.
In 2023, 2024, 2025, and 2026, however, we were able to raise enough funds that we were able to have the dinner catered. The meal included: BBQ pulled pork with roll, mashed potatoes, coleslaw and mac salad. The catering services will also include all utensils, plates, napkins, etc.
Cake contest: The theme will be BASEBALL. Please work with your scouts to come up with a creative design to win the honor of 2026 best cake in show!
The Cub Master spent some time during the Dinner recognizing Scouts who have earned awards and badges. The Arrow of Light ceremony was also a part of the dinner as 5th graders cross over to Boy Scout Troop 47.
